Alan Bower
Cognitive behaviour psychotherapistAbout Me
Hi, I'm Al, I'm 61 and from Sheffield. I have lived in Cornwall for over 40 years. I am married with two grown ups, a daughter (31) and a son (19).
23 years service in the Royal Navy, I saw active service in 1982 in the Falklands War.
The latter part of my Navy career was spent in welfare, where I gained valuable insight into therapy and family dynamics.
My later studies enhanced my knowledge of this area of learning, and I gained Diploma level in several psychology based subjects.
I now use this experience in the hope of helping other people to resolve any issues that may be inhibiting their quality of life.
I offer a generic counselling service, but I specialise in both Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Transactional Analysis.
Outside of therapy, I am a professional drummer and guitarist, having played around the world in various rock bands.
I am, at present, incorporating these recreational skills to formulate Music Therapy workshops in my studio, which is situated at my home.
