Vida Boreham
Integrative counsellorAbout Me
I understand there are times in life when talking to friends or family is not enough and perhaps you are thinking of a more specialist and focussed support strategy. I appreciate it is a difficult decision to seek counselling support, but a brave one.
Welcome!
Let’s work together side by side.
I am an integrative therapeutic counsellor and have clinical experience within leading mental health charities Place2Be, The Mix and Kids Inspire.
I work in private practice and school settings. I specialise in short-term and solution focussed, face-to-face and telephone counselling.
I adopt a holistic approach which is tailored to your individual needs. I work to aid you, or your family or your child/adolescent to develop a better understanding, build resilience and become better able to manage life’s difficulties.
I work with the emotional and cognitive aspects of your, or your family or your child/adolescent’s experience in the here and now. I am, however, mindful and respectful of the past and hopes for the future.
I can quickly and safely establish rapport and build a trusting relationship to enable therapeutic work. To facilitate effective therapy I offer support, consistency, validation of your needs, appropriate boundaries, together with a safe, confidential and accepting environment.
I work sensitively with your or your child/adolescent’s current coping mechanisms but empower you or your child/adolescent to develop healthier and more appropriate coping strategies.
Whilst working with your present day concerns, we can also be mindful of the inner child/adolescent, and redress any earlier unmet needs or unresolved difficulties.
The aim of my work is to empower you and promote a positive change and outcome in your personal, family and work life.
