Person-centred/humanistic psychotherapistAbout Me
I offer counselling from a safe therapeutic room in Harborne Birmingham. Making the decision to enter into counselling can be a hard one and finding the right counsellor is important. I am a qualified counsellor and work in a Person Centered way I believe that everybody is an individual and that you are the expert on yourself. I will work with you exploring feeling and thoughts to enable you to feel empowered and discover your own resources. I also work creatively using drawing and creative writing as talking sometimes can be hard. This offers space for reflection and may help you feel more relaxed.
Counselling provides a non-judgmental, safe and confidential place and relationship to enable you to process what may be concerning you. I offer long or short term counselling.
I am an experienced LGBT affirmative therapist. I have experience working within the community through working at Healthy Gay Life in Birmingham. I understand the difficulties such as coming out, gender and sexual orientation, cross cultural relationships, religious impact on sexuality, transitioning as well as other issues. I am passionate about working with and exploring identity issues this includes sexuality , gender and social class.
I have also worked at Solihull Bereavement Counselling Service. Everyone grieves differently and this can be an extremely hard time. Shock, Denial, Depression are just some things you may be experiencing. I work with people who are affected by pet Bereavement too. As a pet owner myself I know how devastating losing a pet can be.
Sports Counselling can help you if you are being held back maybe feeling anxious about joining a gym? Together we can explore the reasons that are stopping you from making that first step. Or maybe you are a passionate athlete and you have lost your passion sometimes our worries stop us enjoying what we are most passionate about. I have an interest in sport am a keen athlete myself maybe I can help you.
Other issues that may bring you to counselling are Depression, stress, family issues, anxiety as well as generalised anxiety disorder, family issues, panic disorder , problems at work and many more.
