Sarah McGuinness
Integrative psychotherapistAbout Me
I am currently working online or by phone.
As an integrative psychotherapist and supervisor, I incorporate a range of ideas and techniques into my work. I am broadly humanistic in my approach meaning we have a dialogue and build a working relationship together. I also draw on attachment theory and CBT techniques. As well as looking at what is going on at the present time for you we would explore your history as a way of understanding where certain behaviour patterns, beliefs and feelings may have originated.
I have a particular interest in mindfulness, it is a practice that benefits me and many clients find it helpful too.
I began my career as a volunteer for The Samaritans and went on to work for the mental health charity Mind and also for Mums Aid, a charity supporting women with post-natal depression.
I have also run a group for people suffering from chronic illness at the Central Middlesex Hospital.
I currently run a practical mindfulness course for parents.
