Sarah Elizabeth Blake
Integrative counsellorAbout Me
Hi, my name is Sarah and I'm a therapeutic counsellor and Level 1 AEDP therapist. I offer a safe, supportive and confidential space for you to explore whatever might be of concern to you. I believe in your inner wisdom, and your innate capacity to grow and heal.
I have an integrative approach to therapy which means that I draw on a variety of theories and approaches including Family Systems Theory, Transpersonal Psychology, Person-Centred Therapy, Gestalt Therapy, Body-Centred Therapy, and Mindfulness.
Fundamentally my approach is relational and experiential. My aim is to build trust together with you so that you can explore whatever you need to in our sessions.
We will work together in the here and now, helping you to experience more of your emotions. We can't selectively numb our emotions. When we numb sadness, anger, grief, we are limiting our capacity to experience joy as well. Having the courage to step in and fully experience difficult feelings means you are gifting yourself the possibility of feeling the full range of your emotions - including joy.
We may explore how the family system that you come from shapes how you live life in the present, including beliefs and patterns that come from earlier in your life, or down the generations. Bringing awareness to these means giving yourself the freedom to choose what to keep, and what no longer serves you.
