Rose Peters
Person-centred/humanistic counsellorAbout Me
As a person-centred counsellor with training in other modalities including NLP – Nero Linguistic Programming, Polly vagal Theory and CBT, I offer a therapeutic approach that prioritises the unique experiences, feelings, and needs of each individual seeking support. I have a deep commitment to fostering an empathetic and non-judgmental environment where you feel safe to explore your innermost thoughts and emotions. Guided by the principles established by Carl Rogers, as a person-centred counsellor I practice active listening, unconditional positive regard, and congruence, all of which facilitate a genuine therapeutic alliance. This connection is vital, as it empowers you to take control of your own healing process, promoting self-discovery, personal growth, and overall well-being.
Within my practice, I emphasise the importance of understanding your perspective and creating space for you to articulate your feelings and experiences. Enabling you to confront your challenges without fear of judgment, ultimately helping you to navigate your emotions and recognise your inherent strengths. This approach is particularly effective if you are facing significant life transitions, trauma, or other personal crises, as it allows you to find your voice and rediscover your sense of identity.
I engage in self-reflection and professional development to enhance my skills and awareness. I understand the significance of my own experiences in shaping my practice and I am committed to remaining open to the diverse backgrounds and narratives of my clients. By embracing a holistic view of mental health, I not only address emotional distress but also support you in seeking meaning and purpose in your life. I believe in a blend of empathy, professionalism, and a genuine belief in your capacity for self-directed growth and healing.
We live in an increasingly complex world where individuals often face multifaceted challenges, for me a person-centred and integrated approach prioritises the unique experiences, emotions, and needs of each individual. By integrating various therapeutic modalities, in a person-centred way I can offer adeptly tailored methods to align with the diverse backgrounds and personal narratives of you. This holistic perspective not only enhances the effectiveness of the counselling process but also empowers you as an individual to explore your inner self, facilitating growth and transformation. I hope to support your mental wellness and resilience in an ever-evolving landscape.
