Integrative psychotherapistAbout Me
The best way out is always through (Robert Frost)
There are times when we may lose our way in life, or our sense of connectedness with ourselves and others. Seeking help can be hard, especially if we have learnt that we must endure difficulties silently or we feel somehow faulty for experiencing them at all. Counselling or Psychotherapy can be a powerful release from lone suffering, foster self-acceptance and understanding, create calm and a clearer sense of purpose and direction.
Finding the right therapist is important. As a UKCP registered practitioner, I am committed to providing the best care for every client, whether you bring past childhood injuries that have not been attended to, or current struggles in relationships or at work. I have extensive experience as a counsellor and psychotherapist, in the NHS and bereavement and educational settings. I offer short and long-term counselling, seeing clients face-to-face in my Upper Walthamstow practice, or remotely and for outdoor (walking) therapy in nearby Epping Forest.
I draw on a variety of models to respond to your individual needs and circumstances. I believe that we all need to be heard and that we can find the answers and solutions to our problems within ourselves if we are offered a safe and confidential environment for exploring our issues at our own pace. My part is to guide you gently through the process of reconnection with what is important to you and to help us make sense of the feelings, conflicts, or repetitive behaviour patterns that may emerge. Being affirmed, validated and met openly without judgement will allow you to look at the choices before you afresh and facilitate healing and change.
I strive to honour each client’s uniqueness and welcome people from different ethnic, cultural, sexual and ability backgrounds in the spirit of companionship, inclusion and celebration.
I have worked with adults on a wide range of issues including loss and bereavement, sexual identity, loneliness, relational conflicts, low self-esteem, family problems including separation, divorce and domestic violence, abuse and trauma, depression and anxiety, bullying, stress and work-related issues.
