About Me

I feel it is so important that we build a good connection and my hope is that you can feel comfortable and able to talk about difficult things without fear of being judged.  My goal is to understand your life, through your eyes and to be there with you as you work through challenges, helping you to make changes if you chose.  My style of communication is relaxed and quite informal, as I feel it can make it easier for us to build trust and it also reflects who I am outside of therapy.

I have supported people when things are feeling too much and are becoming overwhelming.  Things we have to do can build up and up and it can feel like they are forming a brick wall that we need to find a way over.  Do you feel this way?

Is it a struggle to cope?  Do you have racing thoughts, or thoughts that are so loud that you can't focus on anything else?  Do you have so much to do that you don't know where to start and you just can't relax?

If you feel this way, I can support you to break it down and to focus on one thing at a time.  Breaking it down can help it feel more manageable.  Together we can take down the wall brick by brick and help you better manage on a day to day basis.  We can try some exercises together to help you feel more relaxed and slow down, and reduce the volume of your thoughts.  I can support you to build your self-esteem and believe in the decisions you make, leaving you feeling more confident.

Are you in a safe and supportive relationship now, and feel like hurtful or traumatic experiences from your past are getting in the way of your day-to-day life?  Does the thought of conflict make you afraid?  In the past did conflict mean that someone hurt you, or was rough with you?  Do you feel afraid to get things wrong and what that means?  Is it difficult to trust your own thoughts or make decisions?

If you feel this way, I can support you to gain more trust in your own thoughts and to become more confident.  Together we can try to find ways to build your self-esteem and believe in yourself more.  We can try to find hope so that you feel less scared, feel less criticised, and can make your own decisions.

Working with carers of people with Dementia in the past, I've understood first hand what it's like to have a lot on your plate - where there's conflicting responsibilities and you no longer have the time to be you.  This means I am able to help people who are feeling anxious and juggling a lot of responsibilities.

More personally, physical challenges has meant that I understand and have first hand experience in meeting daily challenges and finding innovative solutions and this is something that I support clients to find in their own lives.

If you read through my profile and feel like we might be a good fit, I would love to work with you to see if together we can help you to feel better able to manage on a day to day basis.

I welcome any questions if you are curious about me and my approach as a therapist, feel free to ask.

I hope that you find the support you are looking for and that you find the therapist that feels right for you. Whether that therapist is me, or another therapist, I hope you get what you need from the experience.
