Kelly Britton
Cognitive behaviour psychotherapistAbout Me
Hi, I’m Kelly and I offer a friendly, relaxed environment for you to explore effective ways to reduce your anxiety, worry and over-thinking, stress, low mood and other difficulties you may be experiencing. I am an experienced Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist and also qualified as a Metacognitive Therapist, and include in my approach aspects of mindfulness, compassion, and acceptance therapies, and am a qualified Life Coach. I work with both young people and adults, having spent a combined twenty years in CAMHS, NHS and digital therapy services. It can be a big decision to begin therapy and it is important that you are comfortable with whatever therapist you choose. I am happy for you to contact me for an informal chat (free of charge) to discuss your needs and decide if I am the right therapist for you. I will never agree to treatment if I think you will be better supported by another service.
I am passionate about helping people discover their own strength and resilience to overcome their difficulties, and to learn new techniques to meet challenges. I see therapy as a collaboration and get the best results when we are both on the same page, working together to achieve your goals. Length of treatment is really dependent on what you need, so can be a very short focused piece of work or something longer term and more flexible, for instance if you want to look at several issues. I offer a non-judgemental, safe space to talk and explore issues. We can then look at how those these issues are maintained and help you develop tools to address them, and improve your wellbeing moving forward. I am BABCP accredited which means I adhere to their ethical guidelines and policies so you can be sure my practise is of the highest standards. I am also fully insured and have an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service certificate. Please feel free to contact me for an informal chat where I can answer any questions and you can decide if you want to proceed.
