Kelly Andrews
Psychodynamic counsellorAbout Me
Are you struggling to manage feelings of depression, anxiety, anger, addiction, or any behaviour you feel stuck in?. Do you find yourself in toxic or difficult relationships repeatedly? Or find work stress unmanageable?. Whatever your struggle, unresolved trauma could be behind these painful experiences.
Imagine living life with more peace and ease, feeling more connected to your authentic self and feeling empowered to express your true thoughts and emotions. Therapy with me can help develop an understanding of the impact of your trauma experiences, and gain control and choice over how you want to live, allowing you to be more authentically you, and with less pain. You can book a free 20 minute consultation with me if you would like to learn more.
I help people who have experienced trauma or abuse (in childhood or as an adult) to move past the pain and into the life they want. Together we can explore how past experiences have impacted you and find ways forward. I see the human in you, not just a client. I respond with respect, curiosity and belief in your capacity to heal. You deserve to access the support you need, and you deserve to live a life free from suffering.
I am a fully qualified, BACP registered psychotherapist, I am passionate about the transformative power of therapy, and our capacity to heal.
I have 20 years of experience working in therapeutic roles within the NHS, East Sussex Children's Services, Refuge and Psychology Teams, working with those who experienced trauma, domestic abuse, narcissistic abuse, depression, anxiety, and neurodiversity.
I use the psychodynamic approach, an evidence based therapeutic style that can help with trauma by focusing on uncovering and understanding the deep-seated, often unconscious, emotional wounds and memories that contribute to distress. In essence, the psychodynamic approach helps you understand the root causes of your trauma, how it affects you today, and empowers you to heal and move forward. I also incorporate advice around movement, meditation, mindfulness and journaling to provide a holistic service.
I work from modern, comfortable rooms in Brighton , Hove and Hastings as well as offering online sessions via Zoom.
I understand that reaching out for help takes a huge amount of courage and is often something we feel resistant to, but finding the right support is a positive, acceptable and courageous step towards recovery.
I offer a free of charge, no obligation 20-minute confidential chat if you would like to discuss the process or ask any questions.
If you decide to access therapy with me, we can go on to arrange weekly sessions at an agreed time.
