Karen Scothern
Person-centred/humanistic counsellorAbout Me
I would like to invite you to take the first step in seeking support at a time that you are likely to be experiencing difficulty.
Sometimes we internalise messages from those around us that tell us we should be able to cope. It can often feel easier to seek help for things that are visibly wrong, for example, a broken leg, than for things we cannot necessarily see, for example anxiety. I understand that there may be things that are going on in your inner world that can be really debilitating.
I provide a safe, confidential, non-judgmental and nurturing space within which I accompany my clients on a journey of self-discovery. My hope is that you will feel comfortable enough to discuss whichever issues are causing you difficulty and which may be preventing you from living your life in the way that you wish. I will support you as you find the courage to take a closer look at these issues and we will face them together.
I work in a client-centred way, which is open-ended, tailored to the individual and promotes autonomy of the client.
