About Me

I have been working as a qualified cognitive behavioural psychotherapist for over a decade in the NHS. Over the last year I have been working privately online and have enjoyed seeing people remotely from all over the UK.

I pride myself on, first and foremost, treating you as a person not a diagnosis. I believe that therapy doesn't have to be a stuffy, humourless ordeal, it should be a safe, open space of trust where we can work together to create progress and change in the things that matter to you. My style is informal - I want to get to know you and I understand the importance of wanting to get to know me a bit too. Research has found that the best predictor for a successful outcome of therapy is the relationship between client and therapist so it is incredibly important that we are a good fit.

I use Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) to strike a balance between listening to your story, understanding why you feel the way you do and making changes through practical strategies and techniques to improve your life.

I have a lot of experience working with a range of difficulties including depression, anxiety, panic attacks, OCD, self esteem, childhood trauma and PTSD. I have a special interest in PTSD and ADHD. I am also qualified to offer couple's therapy.

I love what I do, and I would love to hear from you.

Client Testimonials:

Jo has been fundamental in my recovery.
She enabled me to feel safe to explore themes that were deeply impactful. Her intelligence and skill shone through as she pitched each session perfectly to support, enable and facilitate progress. I will be forever grateful to her. (KM)

Jo’s therapy has been transformative for me - I’ve worked with several therapists, and never truly understood the importance of finding the ‘right fit’ until working with Jo. There is more she has done for me than I can put into words, but it’s not an exaggeration when I say therapy with Jo has changed my life for the better. Thank you so much. (Francesca)
