About Me

Every client is unique and there is no one size fits all approach to psychotherapy. I work together with my clients to ensure that the therapy develops at a pace and style that suits their individual needs. I am focused on developing an open and trusting therapeutic relationship with my clients, in order to support growth and change, as appropriate.

My approach to psychotherapy is underpinned by an attachment-based psychoanalytic framework. Attachment theory focuses on the long-lasting impact of our earliest relationships with our childhood caregivers, such as our parents. It emphasises the importance those early relationships in enabling us to grow and develop a healthy sense of self, and the issues that arise when these relationships are insufficiently secure and supportive. Attachment therapy is therefore based on a co-created relationship between therapist and client. As a therapist, I am committed to supporting you on this journey, with a view to helping you feel stronger, happier and more in control.

Training and qualifications

I am an attachment-based Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist in my latter years of training at The Bowlby Centre, a UKCP accredited institution. As a UKCP trainee therapist, I have experience in helping people from a wide range of backgrounds and cultures. I have worked with clients who have come to therapy with a variety of issues including trauma, depression, anxiety, relationship problems, discrimination, difficult life decisions and feeling in a state of crisis.

I am on the UKCP register for trainee therapists and I am committed to following the ethical and professional codes of practice of both the UKCP and my training organisation. I also have a Foundation Certificate in Counselling Skills from WPF. Prior to training as an attachment-based psychoanalytic psychotherapist, I have an extensive career background in PR and communications, focused on the healthcare and charity sectors. This armed me with many transferable skills, attributes and qualifications which inform my work as a psychotherapist.
