Heather Finlay
Relational psychotherapistAbout Me
I offer therapy in a safe environment, providing confidential, non-judgemental support to help you explore the difficulties that have led you to seek help. I strive to build a supportive and trusting relationship through listening and talking, to work through issues that may be upsetting you, such as relationship problems, loss, anxiety, depression, shame, trauma, addictions or low self-esteem. We will explore these problems together and find ways to manage feelings that may overwhelm you, challenge self defeating behaviour, identify goals and increase motivation to change, through sessions tailor made to meet your needs.
I specialise in working with emotional difficulties such as relationship issues, loss (of others and of self), trauma, emotional avoidance or dependency, and addictions. I aim to build good self esteem, a strong sense of self, healthy relationships with others, but most importantly a healthy relationship with yourself.
Sessions are tailor made to meet your needs, integrating the right psychological approach for you. It takes courage to seek help and to find the right therapist for you, so I offer a free 15 minute phone consultation prior to an initial session. I also offer online therapy sessions. I am a registered member of the BACP and abide by their code of ethics.
