Integrative psychotherapistAbout Me
Are you feeling lost, confused or a lack of hope? Are you experiencing low mood, anxiety or a loss of connection? Maybe things feel overwhelming right now and it is difficult to see a way through it. If so, therapy can help support you in this challenging time bringing the clarity, strength, understanding and growth needed to navigate these challenges.
I am a BACP registered psychotherapist/counsellor and adhere to their ethical standards. I deliver sessions online and my areas of expertise include anxiety, stress, depression, relationship issues, abuse, trauma, PTSD, self confidence, confusion, body dysmorphia, suicidal ideation, feeling lost and finding purpose.
I provide an inclusive, safe, warm and confidential relational space to explore the experiences and challenges that may be causing pain and distress. The importance and value of the therapeutic relationship is central to my clinical practice as it holds huge potential for transformation and growth.
My work is informed by a deep curiosity around how our earlier life, and any distress we encountered then, can have an effect on our present day living, in terms of how we think and feel and in the relationships we have. Introspection and self awareness are encouraged in our sessions, in a holding environment that allows us to gain insight into patterns of behaviour which might be preventing us from leading satisfying lives.
My integrative style allows me to draw from various psychotherapeutic modalities and my style adapts based on the needs of the client. I incorporate psychodynamic (looking at how our early life may have provided roots for current challenges), humanistic ( helping you access and strengthen inner resources to deal with current challenges), existential (exploring values, meaning and purpose in life in general and current situation), CBT ( looking at core beliefs about yourself and the world) and somatic therapy ( drawing awareness to underlying physical sensations).
It is important that we use the first session to see if I am a good fit for you, and if we can work together. Endings are an important part of the therapeutic process and it is important that we leave some time to incorporate an ending, should you wish to finish at any time.
