Billie (aka) Marie-Noel Buckley
Psychoanalytic psychotherapistAbout Me
- I am out of office between Thursday the 25th January till Thursday the 8th of February -
Recently I moved from my Knightsbridge Practice of 20 years to Chelsea where I am now well established, receiving referrals from G. Ps. and psychiatrists, although "word of mouth" has also brought numerous people to my door. My private practice is in my Chelsea home which includes my office and consulting room which is in a comfortable setting providing confidentiality and safety.
I trained as a Transpersonal Counsellor for two years before training as a Psychodynamic Counsellor, an extensive and riggerous counselling training which involved 3 years of in-house clinical practice, extensive study and ongoing personal therapy. This was followed by 4 years of equally riggerous training as a Psychoanalytic Psychotherapist with WPF/FPC. I undertook other trainings over the years and continue to attend numerous clinical seminars, lectures and workshops to keep up-to-date. I adhere to a strict code of Ethics.
There, usually, is an initial assessment consultation for approximately an hour and a half which gives the individual the opportunity to find out whether he or she feels comfortable in the room with me, as well as being able to ask questions with regard to the therapy process. This consultation affords me the opportunity to ask questions in order to find out what the main issues are that prompted the seeking of therapy/help; any setbacks, as well as to take down some details of background and personal history. At the close of this session a decision can be made as to how to go forwards. I see individuals for once (and up to three) times a week. More short term work or fortnightly sessions may be required. With couples, I prefer to see each individual first on their own before seeing the couple together. We then are able to decide whether to do some intensive work initially on a weekly or fortnightly basis to be extended to once a month. Some tasks may be set.
I speak both French and Italian and lived in Europe before settling permanently in London. I continue to travel worldwide and thus bring a broad and world-wide experience to my work. I respect, welcome and, indeed, value each person's diversity and uniqueness and thus I can respond individually to that person's own particular circumstances. My different skill sets enable me to be less rigid and flexible, when appropriate, and thus to understand and help people, young or older, who may require short term work, fortnightly or indeed only once a month.

Fees
I have a Sliding Scale according to each individual's financial circumstances as long as each person is completely open with regard to their financial circumstances. I would not like to keep anybody away from of my Consulting Room due to financial restrictions.
I believe I am extremely fair with regard to session fees. The assessment session fee is usually more expensive as it is for an hour and a half and up to two hours at the end of which fees would be discussed if it is agreed to continue with therapy.
Do feel free to telephone to discuss fees in more detail or e-mail me on [email protected]
