Anna Stickney
Person-centred/humanistic counsellorAbout Me
I offer counselling sessions outdoors -walking or sitting in the various parks in the Kingston/Richmond area, or along the riverside (wheelchair accessible routes available). I will listen to you, without judgement, and enable you to work autonomously with your concerns/anxiety/trauma. I believe in the efficacy of face to face relational communication and the importance of embedding ourselves within the wider context of nature. This leads to holistic, embodied mind and body development.
Having previously worked as a massage therapist, I am interested in how the body holds stress and the embodiment of psychological change. I use mindfulness techniques, promoting body awareness and acceptance.
In our sessions, I offer a relational approach, in which you can explore your issues with autonomy and respect. I will listen to you, allowing space for reflection and insight. I will support your experience, and together we will find a pathway to change.
I offer a free initial telephone session, in which we will discuss what you would like to gain from counselling and what I can offer. We will also agree on a suitable location to meet. Our subsequent sessions will be outdoors, experiencing nature in all seasons. I offer long-term and short-term therapy, and one off sessions, if that is what you need for now. Please email me if you would like to ask anything, and let me know when you would like your free call?
